Learning about RSS
Posted in Social Media in ELT tagged aggregators, RSS at 12:31 am by editasaluzzo
Really simple syndication. I have just started my duties for the second week at SMielt. I found out that my feed url is the same as my weblog url + the word feed. Then I typed it at the News aggregator and saw part of my first post there.
Today I also learned a bit more about dotSub, which looks really juicy!
I liked this video about RSS. Watch it!

RSS makes all the difference in the world. When I first started blogging as part of EVO2005, we didn’t learn about RSS until a couple weeks into the session. It made my life so much simpler!

dotSub is great – It allows clean translation and you can configure it the way you want. Very friendly interface – This is just a sample of one of the things I created with it :

RSS feeds were completely alien and confusing to me for a long time, but finally I learned how to use them and realized how useful they can be in our work and access to information. The biggest change, I guess, is how we access the information; whereas before we would “look” for it, nowadays, it “comes” to us with the help of the RSS feeds.
